Edwardian amethyst and diamond pendant necklace with a central oval mixed cut amethyst measuring approximately 17mm x 12mm, surrounded by four old cut diamonds at the cardinal points, with two pear cut amethyst pendant drops suspended from gold knife bar links, further set with four old cut diamonds in millegrain setting, on a platinum and gold trace chain, plus a pair of similar amethyst and seed pearl pear-shape pendant earrings, all in an Edwardian fitted leather box retailed by 'Saunders & Co. Ltd, 45 Kensington High St., W.' CONDITION REPORT Necklace - in very good condition. Trace chain is missing one tiny platinum elongated link which has been re-attached / repaired with a cotton thread. Possibly some signs of gold solder to the terminals / links where the trace chain joins the oval amethyst. The oval amethyst has had a brooch pin fitting removed from the back of the setting. Amethysts all well matched in colour, a rich deep purple. Overall length of chain / necklace is 420mm. Overall length of drop is approximately 62mm. Each pear cut amethyst measures approximately 15mm x 10mm. Total gross weight of necklace is approximately 9.3 grams. Earrings - each pear cut amethyst measures approximately 13mm x 8mm. Overall drop is approximately 25mm. One round cut amethyst is badly chipped. The setting is different to the necklace so do not match the necklace. Total gross weight of earrings is 3.2 grams
