Eleven pieces of Chinese export and other blue and white porcelain. (11) CONDITION REPORT: A good selection of porcelain, 18th and late 19th century. The lot comprises - A pair of small blue and white vases height 9cm good condition. Rice bowl of non uniform shape, rim chip and repair, diameter 13.5cm, looks like cargo china, a small vase similar height 5cm in good condition with tiny crumb chip. Long shaped oblong plate width 33.5cm. Circular blue and white plate design width 23.3cm, tiny rim chip with plate hanger. Oblong blue and white trough with reticulated sides, good condition and showing great age length 23cm. Two small dishes with light gilding and swag design continental china with some repair. Two further plates / shallow bowls, export china, tiny rough edges to the shaped dish where it has been on a metal hanger but otherwise both good. All items are un-marked.

A painted wooden Dutch sewing clamp, the circular frame inset with a circular mirror below a trough form cushion, brightly painted with flowers and motifs on a cream ground, 19cm. * For a similar example see Sullivan (K) Needlework Tools And Accessories – A Dutch Tradition Plate 20 Page 97 where a similar clamp is illustrated from the Fries Museum, Leeuwarden.

Then at James Adams Auctions in Dublin in 1974 (Lot no: 46-Illustrated in the sale catalogue)and then by Victor Waddington, to a Private Collector in Switzerland, from his exhibition in London in 1975 illustrated in his catalogue (27 February-22nd March 1975) as No: 11; Theo Waddington, London (label verso); Private Collection, Dublin. A boy sails a boat in a pool (water trough) while his mother walks on the shore, her hair blowing in the wind. A charming oil which reflects Jack B Yeats` love of toy boats and his yearning for the sea.
