A late 17th century Trough of Bowland oak coffer, dated 1695, with carved panelled front and raised on stile feet. Width 118 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This coffer is in generally good order and is as per the images. The hinges are original. There are no significant losses or repairs. There is no evidence of any significant woodworm in any of the hardwood. The softwood bearers underneath the lid have traces of old long gone woodworm which in our opinion is not problematic. There are also traces in the base of the left hand side compartment which again appears long gone. There are the usual stress fractures and marks associated with a piece of this age but no significant issues.

GEORGE JONES, MAJOLICA POTTERY STRAWBERRY DISH, modelled as a pair of Blue Tits pecking at strawberries on a twig design, 'A' frame handle, above a shallow trough design dish, flanked by 'D' ends with two removable basket dishes, overall decorated with flowers and foliage. Victorian lozenge mark to base and monogram: G.J. within circle, no. 3423. 38.7cm wide, 20cm high. CONDITION REPORT: All four wings of the Blue Tits are damaged with significant losses, nibbles and chips to foliage, flowers etc. Surface wear and losses to glaze. Handle appears intact and okay. Both baskets are generally sound, one has minor nibble to base rim and other nibbles around banding, as does the section where they sit on the base.
