A rare Steiff Teddy Bear with muzzle, circa 1910, with blonde mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs with felt pads, hump, inoperative growler and leather muzzle with lead - 121/2in (32cm) high (balding to back of right leg, some thinning, general wear, dusty and stitching faded)
A rare Steiff Caesar Pinscher or Wire Fox Terrier owned by King Edward VII, circa 1910, with white mohair, clear and black glass eyes with brown backs, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, black mohair ears, swivel head, jointed legs, original leather collar with brass name tag embossed ‘Steiff Caesar’ and on the reverse E VII 1910 and FF button in ear with remains of white tag - 101/4in (26cm) long (some thinning and minor wear). Notes: Caesar was the favourite dog of King Edward VII and after the King’s death in 1910, walked n the procession in prominence ahead of nine kings and other heads of state. Some consider this insult to be the beginning of hostilities which led to the 1st World War
A rare Steiff Molliette, circa 1929, with cream mohair head, hands, feet and tail, clear and black glass eyes with brown backs, black stitched nose, mouth and remains of claws, swivel head, orange velvet dangling body and large FF button - 11in (28cm) high (ears reattached, worn mohair and darned hole to front)
An extremely rare Steiff ‘paper-plush’ Teddy Bear, No.5622, circa 1919, with backing cloth and pile made of brown wood fibres, black boot button eyes, pronounced muzzle, black horizontally stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs with similar finer wood cloth pads, hump, wood wool stuffing and FF button - 121/2in (32cm) high (some professional darning repairs and loss of pile). During the 1st World War, supplies of mohair ran out; in order to continue some production from the Steiff factory, they were forced to come up with some alternatives. One was a tweed-like material made from nettles called Brennessel and from 1919 to 1921 they used this rare ‘paper-plush’. It is believed that this is the first time an example of this rare Teddy Bear has come up for auction for many years

A rare German grey squirrel, probably Strunz with grey mohair, black boot button eyes with white felt disc behind, brown stitched nose and mouth, whiskers, swivel head, jointed limbs, white mohair chest and long mohair wired tail, 1920s - 91/2in (23.5cm) high (slight wear). Notes: This squirrel is virtually identical to the Steiff example from 1925-33, but does not have the tail joint. It is most probably Strunz as they are well known for replicating Steiff products
