A Steiff teddy bear. Circa 1908, with golden mohair fur, swivel head with black boot button eyes, button in ear, stitched nose and mouth, hump to back and elongated limbs, height 38cm.There is something clunking around inside the bear though I cannot feel it!As we look at the bear, the left hand pad has two 3/4 cm diameter holes in the pad. The bear's left hand leg pad has been darned and a hole of approx 1 1/2cm has worn through the undarned part of that paw. The bear's right hand pad has a hole of approximately 3 cm in length in the darned part of that paw. The bear's right hand leg has also been undarned part of that paw. The only other general wear is around his nose as visible in the photograph and a little of the mohair around the stud ear to the front and back is missing. The rear of his other ear has a small amount of mohair loss. Apart from the above defects the bear is in remarkably good condition. We cannot detect any moth infestation.

A GOLDEN PLUSH MINIATURE BEAR, c.1920's, possibly Steiff but missing button from ear, original black button eyes, horizontal stitched nose, jointed body, woodwool stuffing, fairly good condition but has some fur loss and wear, height approx. 9cm, with a Steiff type blonde mohair cub teddy bear, c.1920's - 1950's, amber and black glass eyes, horizontally stitched nose, Steiff type front seam, jointed body, begging paws, very long feet, woodwool stuffing, very good condition with only minor wear, no makers markings and a German white cotton plush teddy bear, c.mid 20th century, original black glass bead eyes, brown vertically stitched nose, jointed body, original cotton pads with embroidered claws, wire armature, woodwool stuffing, long curved arms, large feet and hump to back, in good condition with only minor wear (Provenance: this bear was purchased from a toy shop in East Germany just after the fall of the Berlin wall (1989) and was said to be at least 20 years old then), no makers marks, height approx. 17cm (3)
