(57cm.) wide x 19¾in. (50cm.) high x 15¼in. (39cm.) deep

A rare Steiff Teddy Bear, circa 1927, with brown tipped cream mohair, clear and black glass eyes with brown painted backs, pronounced clipped muzzle, neatly stitched rounded brown nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs, large Hug Me squeaker and FF button –16in. (41cm.) high (pads recovered, some slightly thinning and wear, tipping faded and dusty); and a photograph of the original owner as an adult; Catherine was born in 1900 and was given this bear on the wedding day by her husband, who sadly died in the second world war and she treasured this bear until her death in 1985. This bear is very similar in style to Steiff’s Teddy Rose, Teddy Yellow and the famous brown tipped Happy, but this version does not have his oversized eyes
