A 1950s Steiff Teddy Bear, with beige mohair, clear and black glass eyes with brown backs, pronounced muzzle, brown stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed limbs with felt pads, hump, inoperative growler and script button with remains of yellow cloth tag —16in. (40.5cm.) high (some wear and thinning) - this bear is known as Harro
A rare mixed group of Steiff animal skittles circa 1907, the Kingpin of brown burlap plush, black boot button eyes and nose, felt lined ears, red felt tongue, standing holding a pole with chain from pole to nose, red felt tail coat and crown with yellow stitched edge and spangles on crown, turned wooden base and tiny FF underscored button in ear —10 1/in. (27cm.) high (dusty and some holes to felt); the animals all on turned wooden bases comprising a white felt elephant with black bead eyes, felt tusks, original ribbon with bell (discoloured); four white felt rabbits, all with black boot button eyes, pink stitched nose and mouth, three with ribbons and two with bells, all with similar tiny button in ear (all with slight moth damage and discoloured); a pink felt pig with brown spots, black bead eyes, red felt nose, original ribbon with bells and tiny button in ear (some small moth holes); and a brown felt dachshund with black boot button eyes, remain of leather collar and small button in ear (large moth hole to right side of face and upper body, other small moth holes) - this almost complete set is just missing one other animal, it is not a typical grouping, but has always been together like this and their small buttons indicate they were made approximately at the same time. The mixed sets usual have one of each animals, but here we have four rabbits. It is not unimaginable that a retailer might have mixed the sets up to appease a rabbit loving child or possibly two children had two sets and they swapped them around, we will never know!
