An early 20thC Steiff push-a-long bear standing on all fours, the jointed head set with glass eyes leading to a humped back and shaped legs with felt padded feet and mounted on cast wheels. The metal hole through which the growler would have been operated can be seen in the bear's back and the growler is still present, however, the pull cord is not. Bear 40cm long and 28cm high - base length 38.5cm long and 23cm wide

Provenance; Bear comes with his lifelong 'bed' - a Victorian / Edwardian small cloth bound childs trunk, a photograph of the original owner (pictured with a toy), a collection of counting blocks and various other 'bedding' for the bear.
