An extensive Royal Crown Derby "Derby Posies" dinner tea and coffee service, comprising 9 dinner plates, 6 dessert plates, large tureen and cover, 7 consomme bowls, 2 preserve pots, 4 egg cups, 6 small shaped dishes, coffee pot, small teapot, 12 saucers, 6 coffee can saucers, 7 side plates, 2 sandwich plates, 6 tea cups, 7 coffee cups, boxed sugar bowl and cream jug and other items, and a Denby Rockingham floral Festival pattern teapot (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: As per the description there are 9 dinner plates. However there is a tenth plate with a similar but not exact pattern also made by Derby. The dinner plates are all in good condition with no cracks or chips. They all show signs of very light use. The soup bowls show no signs of use and have no cracks, chips or loss of gilding. All tea plates are in good condition showing only light use. There are no chips or cracks. All saucers are in good condition showing only light signs of use. One of the smaller cups has a crack running from the rim to the bowl. One of the small cups has a chip to the rim. The rest are all in good condition having no chips, cracks, restoration or loss of gilding. The small teapot has a +/- 10 cm crack to its body. The large sugar basin has a crack running from the lip to the bowl. All other pieces are in very good condition with only some items showing light use.
Four pieces of Derby Imari, to include a Stephenson and Hancock period oval scalloped dish, with red inscribed mark, a Royal Crown Derby shaped dish, date cypher for 1912, pattern 2451 a lozenge shaped dish on four feet, date cypher for 1918 pattern 1685 1128, and a candlestick, date cypher for 1919. Widest diameter 29.8 cm, the candlestick 16.5 cm high (see illustration).
A Royal Crown Derby porcelain vase and cover, date code 1909, with gilt scroll handles, floral decorated body heightened with gilding all upon a circular foot, factory printed and inscribed marks 1066/2553, 24 cm high, together with a Royal Bonn vase, circa 1900, with gilt metal rococo style mounts, the body painted with floral sprays, printed factory marks and inscribed numbers 36.8 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The lidded vase is in good condition with no issues. The gilding is strong and not rubbed. There is no evidence of any damage. The large vase is in generally good order also. All of the metalwork is present and intact with no losses. The main body of the vase does not appear to have any damage, cracks repairs or restoration. When viewed from beneath there is some crazing to the underside edge of the base.
A Derby saucer dish, circa 1810, and a Royal Crown Derby monogrammed saucer dish, circa 1898, gilt marks, the first painted and gilt with convolvulus and green leaves on a dark blue ground, the Royal Crown Derby example painted by A Gregory with a conjoined gilt monogram to the centre, the black border painted with yellow roses (marks scratched and erased to reverse, slight wear) and a navette shaped teapot stand painted roses on a black ground (3) CONDITION REPORT: Both saucer dishes are in good condition and little to no wear to gilding.The teapot stand is also without damage but a little rubbed.
