The boutiques became famous for selling military style clothing & for a celebrity clientele including the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton & Paul McCartney. Artist John Judkins was commissioned to design posters for the boutique, the most collectable of which are his posters for Bob Dylan & Mick Jagger.These posters were later produced by John Judkins but share the same flair and style of the early artwork.

He commissioned sculptor Andrew Logan to design and make the distinctive logo and imagery. Logan used his trademark broken mirror technique and the pieces were created in his London workshop. A copy of a letter from the sculptor accompanies this lot.In 1970 Peter Golding had designed the world's first 'designer jean' for the Falmer company and, in 1973, he introduced a range of bleached denim wear. He then went on to create the first stretch denim jean in 1978. He has been described by Fashion Weekly as 'the Eric Clapton of denim'.Peter quickly attracted a clientele that was a who's who of the 70s and 80s and included the Rolling Stones, Queen, Britt Ekland, David Bowie, Mary Quant, the Princess of Wales, Marlon Brando, Bryan Ferry, Jerry Hall, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Ossie Clark, Jack Nicholson, Ringo Starr and Zandra Rhodes.
