ROLLING STONES THE: An autograph album containing a page signed by The Rolling Stones individually, Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. A tape stain to the right edge just affects the signatures of Jones and Wyman. JAGGER MICK: (1943- ) English Rock Musician, lead singer of The Rolling Stones. Two identical sheets of printed oblong 8vo stationery from the University of London Institute of Education, St. Mary`s College, Twickenham, Middlesex, each signed twice by Jagger with his name alone in bold blue ink. VG, 2 Mick Jagger`s father, Joe Jagger, was a lecturer at St. Mary`s College and his funeral was held at the University College`s chapel.
[ROLLING STONES THE]: A scarce original unsigned colour 25 x 12 slick for the British 1968 Beggar`s Banquet album cover, designed by Mick Jagger and with a graffiti theme. This design was not accepted by the band`s record label, Decca, and after a two month period of wrangling between the Rolling Stones and the record company, the band conceded ground and the album was released with it`s more familiar invitation design. This original slick was previously the property of the music critic Ralph Gleason. Accompanied by a letter of provenance and copies of letters to Gleason. Some light folds and minor creasing and age wear to the edges. About VG

The Rolling Stones Two art boards for the preliminary design of the inner sleeve artwork for the Rolling Stones' controversial 1978 album Some Girls, each consisting of a layout of cropped black and white photographic celebrity portraits mounted on card, a sheet of clear acetate overlay with superimposed cut-out photographic portraits of the band members and a sheet of tracing paper inscribed with the outlines of faces corresponding to the cutouts and celebrity portraits underneath, both -- 20x15in. ROLLING STONES THE: A good set of individual blue ink signatures by the original five members of the English rock band, Mick Jagger, Brian Jones (in fountain pen ink), Bill Wyman, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts, on a page contained in an autograph album. The album also featuring signatures of other popular singers including Cliff Richard, Hank Marvin, Dusty Springfield, Joe Brown, Johnny Kidd, The Crystals (all four members individually) etc. A few pages loose, otherwise VG The vendor believes that the signatures were obtained by a cinema projectionist who worked at the Gaumont-Odeon Cinema in Winchcombe Street, Cheltenham.
An autograph book circa 1962 containing the autographs of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Mojos, Paul Jones (Manfred Mann) and several other unidentified artists, this book was given to the vendor by her grandmother in 1964, this person worked at the Globe Theatre in Stockton on Tees where the autographs were obtained. We are informed that the signatures of the Beatles were obtained the night President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. It should be noted that the autographs of The Rolling Stones are on the reverse side of The Beatles signatures, ie on a single page

A group of 126 original b&w medium-format negatives relating to the 1966 World Cup by photo journalist Ian Wright of the Northern Echo, included in sixteen orig. negative packets with orig. ink captions including ten photos of Jack and Bobby Charlton returning to Ashington (six crowd scenes, one of Jack and Bobby at a window, one with their mum and two with the mayor drinking champagne and cutting a cake), two modern 10 x 8 inch prints and a contact sheet supplied (see illustration in catalogue), the other packets including Hungarian team training in Sunderland (9), civic reception for World Cup officials in Middlesbrough (2), Roke Park getting ready for the World Cup (4), measuring grass for Korean’s football pitch (5), North Koreans at Mayor’s Parlour (5), Ayresome Park development (4), Koreans training at Ayresome (2), Chile v North Korea at Middlesbrough (14), North Korea v Russia at Middlesbrough (19), Italy arriving at Newcastle Airport (2), Chile arrives at Newcastle (4), Russia arrives (5), Russians in training at Ayresome (13), and the North Korean World Cup Squad arrive (15), plus three modern contact sheets and a modern print from these negatives, plus a small quantity of Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Sunderland football team photo negatives from the 1960s. Ian Wright began working as a dark room boy at “The Northern Echo” at the age of 16, where Harold Evans was to become editor. Eventually he was given photography assignments, including covering emerging pop music groups for a new supplement to the paper called “The Teenage Special”. Throughout the 1960s Ian photographed such emerging icons as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendricks, Roy Oribson, et al. He followed Harold Evans to “The Sunday Times” in London and worked internationally thereafter. Last year he published “On the Brink of Fame, Pop Stars in the Swinging 60s” containing many of his historic and iconic photographs. He currently resides in Las Vegas with his wife and travels worldwide giving lectures about his career. He maintains a keen interest in cricket and President of the Las Vegas Cricket Club. Copyright for all the negatives included with this lot is transferred to the successful buyer. (approx. 170)
