 HENDRIX JIMI: (1942-1970) American Rock Guitarist, Singer & Songwriter. A good, rare bold black ink signature ('Love always Jimi Hendrix', with an additional image of a heart in his hand) on a small oblong 8vo cream folding card, being a presentation folder designed to contain a photograph and with neat slits at the corners. Some light creasing and a few minor stains, none of which significantly affect the signature, G Provenance: According to information supplied by the vendor she obtained the signature in person when she met Hendrix at Watford Gap service station shortly before his death in 1970. The Blue Boar service station, as it was previously known, opened in 1959 and became a popular meeting place for various Rock bands in the 1960s, including The Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Indeed, Hendrix heard so much about the Blue Boar that he initially believed it to be a night club.
