All photographs were taken by Ethan Russell who, at the time, was a novice photographer living in London, his early work rocketed him to fame photographing other Rock and Roll Pop groups including the Beatles and The Who. Presley then used the Jordanaires Quartet on nearly every one of his recording sessions and live show for the next 14 years. The Blue Moon Boys played on every Elvis recording session and live show between 1954 and 1968. The Blue Moon Boys were a band formed by Elvis Presley (1935 1977), guitarist Scotty Moore (1931 2016) and bassist Bill Black (1926 1965) in 1954 with drummer D J Fontana (1931 2018) joining the group in 1955. The Blue Moon Boys played on every Elvis recording and live show between 1954 and 1968 and were inducted into the Musicians Hall of fame in 2007. D J Fontana (1931 2018) was an American musician best known as the drummer for Elvis Presley for 14 years. They are widely known for providing background vocals for Elvis Presley in live appearances, recordings and feature films from 1954 to 1972. RARE An Elvis Presley A Touch of Gold vinyl record signed by members of his original backing bands. Signed by two members of The Blue Moon Boys Scotty Moore (1931 2016) and D J Fontana (1931 2018) together with a member of The Jordanaires Ray Walker (b.1934). On January 10, 1956, Presley recorded his first session for RCA with guitarist Scotty Moore, bassist Bill Black and drummer D. J. Fontana (The Blue Moon Boys). "I Got a Woman", "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Money Honey" were recorded. By April 1956, "Heartbreak Hotel" was No. 1. Presley asked his new label RCA Victor if the vocal quartet The Jordanaires could also appear on the recordings, which they subsequently did. Presley then used the Jordanaires Quartet on nearly every one of his recording sessions and live show for the next 14 years. The Blue Moon Boys played on every Elvis recording session and live show between 1954 and 1968. The Blue Moon Boys were a band formed by Elvis Presley (1935 1977), guitarist Scotty Moore (1931 2016) and bassist Bill Black (1926 1965) in 1954 with drummer D J Fontana (1931 2018) joining the group in 1955. The Blue Moon Boys played on every Elvis recording and live show between 1954 and 1968 and were inducted into the Musicians Hall of fame in 2007. Scotty Moore (1931 2016) Rock critic Dave Marsh credits Moore with inventing power chords, on the 1957 Elvis hit Jailhouse Rock. Moore was ranked 29th in Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2011.
