Mike Francis (9th May 1938 - 1st June 2023) was a British illustrator who spent his early life as one of London's most talented illustrators, winning the 1974 National Portrait Gallery's 150th Anniversary Poster Competition and then spending the next 15 years with the Nicolas Treadwell Gallery pioneering the Superhumanist Art Movement in London and showing his paintings all over the world. He continued to paint up until the final year of his life, producing over 5000 works, mostly oil and acrylic paintings on canvas.

Brock created for Gilbert and Sullivan (2nd Series) set of 50 cigarette cards issued by John Player and Sons in 1927. This piece was used for 'Jack Point "The Yeomen of The Guard"' in the set. Mounted and signed to the bottom right corner. Measuring approximately 42 cm x 30 cm including the mount. Henry Matthew Brock (11 July 1875 - 21 July 1960) was a British illustrator and landscape painter of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. He was one of four artist brothers who worked together in a family studio in Cambridge. Brock worked in advertising as well as in book illustration, for example he illustrated Charles Dickens' 'Great Expectations', and produced four colour plates for a 1935 edition of 'A Christmas Carol'. The University of Reading has an H.M. Brock collection, which is made up some 2000 books in which Brock's work was published.

The Player's Navy Cut logo was based on the painting 'Head Of A Soldier' by Arthur David McCormick (1860–1943), which is believed to depict one Thomas Huntley Wood, who served twenty-four years in the Royal Navy in the nineteenth century. The painting was then used as inspiration by Players for their logo and was printed on every cigarette packet for over half a century. The sailor image was known as 'Hero' because of the name on his hat band. The two ships behind him are thought to be HMS Britannia and HMS Dreadnought or possibly HMS Hero.

Ogdens Cigarettes - The Story Of The Life-Boat (c1950s unproduced set) - four original hand painted mixed media artwork pieces for the unreleased cigarette card series c1950s. All as painted by artists from Mardon, Son & Hall - likely Frank J. Wall, for the intended production. Each card features an image relating to lifeboats, their history, or their personnel. Artwork size: 3" x 5.5", approx. This cigarette card set was designed and created for Ogdens in the 1950s, but was never officially released. It was later reproduced in the 1980s and 1990s in limited runs for collectors.

Featuring historical scenes, such as a Georgian ballroom, Tudor stables, a Victorian courtroom and a Medieval Throne room. Mounted and measuring approximately 21 cm x 15 cm, including the mount.
Eric Bottomley G.R.A - a piece of original highly detailed mixed media artwork by British artist Eric Bottomley, created for the set of 30 cigarette card series 'Castella: Classic Sports Cars' issued by W.D & H.O. Wills in 1996. Featuring the artwork for card no. 9, 'Austin Healey 'Frogeye' Sprite'. Accompanied by the printed cigarette card. Mounted and signed to the bottom right corner. Measuring approximately 30 cm x 42 cm, including the mount. Eric Bottomley studied arts and crafts at Oldham School of Art, leaving in 1964 to work in Manchester as a commercial artist. In 1974 he moved to Dorset to continue as a freelance artist, to devote more time to oil painting. He joined the Guild of Railway Artists in 1979, later to become a full member.

Depicting the portrait of English footballer Bobby Robson. Mounted on card, measuring approximately 15 x 21 cm. Artist unknown. Sir Robert Robson (18 February 1933 - 31 July 2009) was an English footballer and manager. He spent periods of time playing for and managing the England national team, and being a UEFA Cup-winning manager at Ipswich Town. He is known to be one of the best English football managers of all time and was created a Knight Bachelor in 2002 as well as being inducted in the English Football Wall of Fame in 2003.
