An early 19th century Napoleonic prisoner of war work carved bone cribbage board. Set within a shaped wooden mount, the board may possibly have started life as a lid for a games box, as there is a shaped ‘tab’ to one end, often seen on bone lid to facilitate its withdrawal from the box. Approximately 14.3cm length x 5cm width. Condition: generally good. Some contact marks to both the inset bone and wooden mount, with a slight knock to one corner of wood block.
An early 19th century French Napoleonic prisoner of war work carved bone cribbage board. Inset with small tortoiseshell roundels, plus concentric circle patterns. A small diamond shaped tab to one end may mean that it started life as the lid from a box. A modern piece of wood has been tacked into place at one end, thus making the board will tilt. Approximately 11.9cm x 3.2cm. Condition: normal light wear commensurate with age and wear. Plus, an unusual 19th century miniature shuttlecock, with alternating pink and white feathers, and a carved bone head - approximately 5.3cm height. Good condition. And, a late 19th / early 20th century porcupine quill box, with small inset bone roundels, and a sliding lid. Contained within the quill box is a set of Chinese domino cards. Box size approximately 17.9cm x 9.5cm x 4.4cm. Condition: some quills missing or loose to the lid and sides, but generally solid construction.
An early to mid 20th century cased gaming counter set consisting of five separate compartments for various sized stained bone counters, case with plaque for Au Nain Bleu - Paris, largest counters approx. 3.4cm diam, smallest approx. 1.7cm diam, inside another compartment for card with cards inside, case approx. 21.2cm wide. Along with an early 20th century inlaid wooden folding cribbage set, paper interior with card set inside and small compartment with cribbage pieces inside, board made of various woods, inlaid. Approx. 25.3cm long when opened as a board, when closed approx. 12.6cm wide. (2) Further details: case to gaming counter set does not close properly but lock intact, general wear to both, some minor loss, scratching etc, generally both good.
A well made, early 19th century French Napoleonic war prisoner of war work carved bone gaming box. Designed as a type of casket, with a wooden carcass and bone overlay. Featuring an apex ‘roof’ type lid, which has 4 inset painted panels of well dressed ladies and gentlemen. The lid slides to one side, allowing access to the contents. Around the lip are small hole for the playing of cribbage, with there also being a small compartment within for housing the pegs. At each corner there is a foot, raising the box from desk surface, and each 4 side of the main body is inset with hand painted panels depicting houses, and baskets of flowers. The box is complete with 20 original dominos. To the inside is an old sale label, which reads ‘French prisoner of war box 1815’. Approximately 16.8cm length x 7.2cm width x 6cm height. Condition: a little age related wear. The lid has 5 small oval panels on the apex, which at some point would of had some kind of inlay, but these are now absent. While the 4 feet are present, the box does not sit level on a flat surface, with one being slightly raised. The 4 painted panels to the lid are a little faded, but the one to each side still retain reasonably strong colours. The lip area has a couple old fractures to the bone, but these are stable and there is no movement.
An Edwardian inlaid wooden rectangular cribbage board with curved ends, on four stilted feet, geometric design in satin and other woods, approx. 31cm long, along with a long rectangular 19th century walnut cribbage board with spherical end, on three curved feet, approx. 33.4cm long. (2) Further details: age related loss and wear to both, some minor loss to areas of inlaid wood, slight scratching to areas, old split in wood possibly natural, slight glue residue to areas.

A Victorian Walnut & Inlaid Games Table, of cartouche form, with fold-over swivel top with integral chess, backgammon & cribbage boards, raised on turned and heavily carved supports to outswept scrollwork legs and porcelain castors, 67cm by 42cm by 74cmSome slight bubbling to the veneer and superficial marks on the top. Gaming surface polished in good condition. Rotating and hinging mechanism good. No notable warping to the top. Drawer with lock, key lacking. Base structurally sound. No sign of repair to supports or stretcher.
