A Victorian burr walnut veneered games compendium with agate cabachon mounts, the rectangular brass bound case opening to reveal cards, mother of pearl gaming counters, ivory and Coromandel wood cribbage boards, two ivory numbered markers (one at fault) and further components, with engraved brass plate to the interior 'G Coulstings The Mall Clifton', 32.5cm wide, 19cm deep and 8cm high CONDITION REPORT: The walnut veneer to the back of the box and the lid has been heavily repaired / replaced. Other repairs to the veneer to all edges of the lid. The veneer appears to have lifted on the lid and is duller in appearance. Metal mounts grubby and some wear to the cabochon mounts. Internally better, general rubbing to compartment edges. ONe of the markers is defective.
