A Victorian yew-wood and marquetry 'Killarney' games table:, decorated with chequer and feather lines, the crossbanded hinged top with leaf sprays and panels of buildings, the interior decorated for backgammon, chess and cribbage with trailing clover leaf surround, the frieze similarly decorated on a polygonal urn shaped support, serpentine platform and reeded splayed feet, 62cm (2ft 0 1/2in) wide.
[AIRSHIP INTEREST]. A CRIBBAGE BOARD believed to have been partially constructed from re-used airship metal, the drilled aluminium upper surface stamped 'R100' and 'D Hughes', and set to a wood block base, overall 35cm long. Note: The British airship R100 was built by a subsidiary of Vickers-Armstrong and first flew in 1929. It made a successful crossing of the Atlantic, on a return trip to Canada, in 1930, but was grounded the following year in response to the crash of the R101. With the decision to abandon further research and development it was then sold for scrap in 1931.
