Mess R.N.A.S, laid on to an oak base, 27 cm long, a propeller blade box, laminated mahogany, the hinged lid inset with a brass and enamel RNAS badge, 19 cm long, aluminium letter opener, the curved blade with RNAS eagle emblem and engraved Cranwell 1917, overall length 21 cm, a "trench art" type brass book engraved with the name J.H. Furniss and opposite side with RNAS eagle and nicolia Lemnos 1918-19, 8 x 6 cm, a nickel plated sovereign case engraved RNAS 1917, the opposite side engraved 'won by A.M.E. E.G. A fine whitewood and pen decorated card box with matching cribbage board probably relating to the early Tunbridge trade, of sarcophagol form raised on painted bun feet, the sides with elaborate pineapple and leaf frieze, the lid with a complex view of a watermill with horse and cart in the foreground within a perspective leaf and square border with an outer concave border of stylised leaves. The interior in original pink paper, the base section with central lift out counter tray with mother of pearl counters flanked by divisions for cards, the back compartment housing a matching penwork cribbage board, 24.5 x 17 x 12.5cms. A late Victorian oak 'Royal Cabinet of Games' compendium by Leuchars & Sonsthe box with swing doors opening to reveal a fitted interior containing a black and red leather folding games board for chess, draughts, backgammon and a horse racing game, a turned boxwood and ebony 'Staunton' pattern chess set, two removable lift out trays, one containing boxwood and ebony counters, set of six bone dice and peg markers, cribbage board and a set of bone dominoes beneath, the other whist markers and three unopened packs of playing cards in original wrappers, beneath compartments holding boxwood shakers and six lead horses and three obstacles, accompanied by a guide bound in gilt decorated cloth, bears label 'Leuchars & Sons 38 & 39 Piccadilly, London'height 18cm., width 32.2 cm., depth 22cm.Condition: Good condition commensurate with age. Key present.

Angas Esq. on his leaving Blenheim, by 124 servants and employees on the Estate as a token of their appreciation on his unfailing courtesy and kindness, 27th August 1909'; the two hinged heavily brass-mounted covers above a Bramah lock with shield-shaped brass escutcheon and a single recessed full-width gaming drawer below (with cribbage board and cards); further brass mounts in Gothic Reform style; two brass side carrying handles (LWH 37 x 38 x 32.5 cm).
