A Victorian East and West Africa Medal with Benin 1897 clasp to 'H G Emmett CPO HMS Philomel': together with a silver cased aneroid barometer with personalised inscription from the crew of HMS Eagle, 1908, an Elkington & Co silver plated tanked initialed 'HGE', a cribbage board and set of South African playing cards.*Notes- Laid down in 1889 at Devonport, HMS Philomel was a Pearl-class cruiser that served in the Cape of Good Hope Station and took part in the Benin Expedition of 1897. * Notes Militaria artefacts are reproduced in significant numbers, in particular those from the World War II period and some may use original parts. A George III satinwood Pembroke games table. Crossbanded in mahogany, with strung inlay and raised on square tapering supports. With reversible parquetry inlaid top for chess and cribbage and having two compartment fitted interior, 71cm x 55cm, 72cm high. Fitted compartments later lined. Some fading to the polish. The reversible top and runners have moved slightly out of line so are no longer a truly tight fit but work fine when closed.
