A Mahogany Striking Table Clock, signed Thos Turnbull, Whitby, circa 1790, mahogany veneered case with an arched top and carrying handle, glazed side panels and pull repeat cord, bracket feet, 7-inch arched brass dial with a silvered chapter ring, plain silvered dial centre with a date aperture and signed on a plaque, arch with strike/silent selection dial, twin fusee movement with an anchor escapement and striking on a bell, movement backplate engraved with scroll work and a central basket of flowers, movement secured with brackets, 44cm high see illustration 23.02.17, Case surfaces have been polished, some veneers with cracks and lifting in parts, the back door is slightly bowed, the case carcass with some small woodworm holes which are visible when opening both front and back doors, later base and later feet, dial is clean, movement with a later back cock, later crutch, converted from verge to an anchor escapement, later bell. strike and pull repeat are working.

An Oak Chiming Table Clock, signed Russells, Maker To The Queen, Liverpool, circa 1890, caddied top with carved swag recessed panels, carved Corinthian columns, pierced side frets, 7-inch brass dial elaborately engraved with flower heads throughout, silvered Roman numeral chapter ring, silvered plaque signed below 12, three dials for chime/silent, fast/slow and Whittington/Westminster chime selections, triple chain fusee movement with an anchor escapement, quarter chiming with eight hammers striking a nest of eight bells or four hammers striking four gongs and striking a larger gong for the hours, movement secured in with brackets, 64cm high, with a later rosewood wall bracket, 52cm high see illustration 23.02.17, Case is faded in parts, top urn finial with chips and dent marks, side frets with some pieces lacking, some small cracks and chips, Corinthian capitals with chips, small cracks to both sides, base with small dents to the edges in parts, silvered dials are slightly discoloured in parts, movement is complete, chime is working, later wall bracket.
