Eugenio Courret (active 1860-1900). Vistas Monumentos Y Tipos De Lima, ca.1870. 52 albumen prints. Mounted two to a page on single side of leaves, ink titles in French below, mounted on stubs at left edge, contemporary morocco, gilt arms of Peru in centre of both covers, gilt borders, spine titled as above. Each approximately 12.5 x 16.8 cm. (5 x 6 3/4 in.). Eugenio Courret arrived in Lima from France ca.1861 and opened a photographic studio with his brother Aquiles in 1863. This collection comprises of 42 views of Lima (general views, street scenes, individual buildings),nine figure subjects, and one study of a banana tree.
