GROUP OF THREE 18TH CENTURY DELFTWARE TIN GLAZED PLATES, two with underglaze blue decoration, the third polychrome decorated, two 36cm and one 33cm diameter approx. (3)(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: All of these plates have significant damage. The polychrome plate having been badly smashed and repaired. One of the blue and white plates having been badly broken and with riveted repair and the third having long hair crack.
A Frankfurt blue and white delftware vase: of globular form with octagonal lower section, painted in Chinese Transitional style with figures in a continuous lake landscape panel including an equestrian figure with a bow and arrow and another holding a banner, early 18th century, 30 cm high [minor damage and repair].
A pair of London blue and white delftware dry drug jars: each painted with an elaborate strapwork cartouche surmounted with a shell and two winged cherubs, a cupid's head and floral swags below, inscribed 'Bals:Lucat' and 'U:Dialthae', circa 1730-50, 16.5 cm high [some damage and glaze losses].*Note. Balsamum Lucatelli was used to treat ulcers and Unguentum Dialthae to decrease inflammation and heal wounds.
