A George V canteen of silver cutlery by Atkin Brothers,the silver items and carving set engraved with the letter S, comprising eighteen table forks and eighteen ivory handled steel table knives (six with later ivorine handles), six egg spoons, soup ladle, basting spoon, pair of sauce ladles, a five piece ivory handled steel carving set, a pair of sugar tongs and twelve each of the following, table spoons, dessert spoons, dessert forks, teaspoons and ivory handed steel dessert knives, 1909/13/14, 133oz, housed in an inlaid mahogany two drawer canteen, with brass handles and inset engraved brass plaque.Minor surface scratches in places in general, otherwise the overall condition is good commensurate with age and some use. Hallmarks clear. Blades for table knives and dessert knives probably later as blades differ from carving set, but a good match. A good Victorian brass mounted and brass monogrammed coromandel travelling toilet set, containing fifteen silver gilt and turquoise bead mounted glass jars and bottles, by Hallstaff & Hannaford,London, 1848, together with a similar scent bottle and a tray containing ten (ex 15) nail implements and silver cutlery, the later hallmarked for Elizabeth Eaton, London, 1848, the lid with detachable mirror, 37.8cm.Numerous condition issues- Two splits to coromandel lid. All embossed lids with monograms. One lid has a split collar and a damaged glass neck. Nine of the glass jars have chipped bases and one has badly damaged side. Similar scent bottle has missing stones from the angles and wear to the gilding. Loss of gilding to the cutlery. Both blades on penknife damaged. Interior lid cover damaged and mirror plate cracked. Also one supports arm for the hinged cover is broken ad original screws are now missing. No key. Base drawer locked. Scuffing to the leather interior in places. Model with flared Art-deco sleeves, turkish terminated spatula, decorated with large floral engravings on one side, neutral lapels. Hallmarks, Romanian work from 1920. Total weight (six pieces) 893,5 g. Length 23,5, 26,5 & 27,5 cm. Good condition.
