A George V canteen of silver Old English pattern cutlery, comprising seventy two items, all with engraved initial, William Hutton & Sons, Sheffield, 1922/3/4/5, together with twelve ivory handled table and desert knives and two (ex three) carving implements, housed in a free standing walnut canteen, and a pair of matched ivory handled silver fish servers, weighable silver 127oz.CONDITION: 12 each of the following: dessert spoons and forks, tablespoons and forks, teaspoons, soup spoons, table knives and dessert knives. Pr of sauce ladles, three piece carving set (should be 4, one piece missing). 6 eggspoons and four table/serving spoons.Generally quite used condition. Tines and spoon tips in good order. Visible surface scratches to all pieces, with more prominent scratches to one of the sauce ladle bowls, all the tablefork handles and tablespoon bowls. Metal caps missing from the handle butts of three of the table knives and one of the dessert knives. One of the carving handles has a chip to the butt of the handle where the metal cap is. The handles are ivory.Box and stand in good order although there is a small bruise to one leg. No key.

A George VI silver canteen of Salisbury? pattern cutlery for twelve by Mappin & Webb, comprising two hundred and nine items, including twenty four ivorine handled table knives, twelve dessert knives, six piece carving set and twelve pairs of mother of pearl handed dessert eaters, all with steel blades except for the dessert forks which have silver tines, the silver flatware hallmarked for Sheffield, 1937/38/39 & 40, and engraved with the letter H, weighable silver 232oz, housed in a free standing walnut two drawer canteen on cabriole legs with claw and ball feet, width 74.5cm.CONDITION: 12 silver fish knives and forks. 24 table forks, 12 dessert forks, 12 dessert spoons, 12 teaspoons, 12 grapefruit spoons, 12 soup spoons, 6 egg spoons, 4 serving spoons, sifter spoon, pair of fish servers, soup ladle, pair of sauce ladles, three small serving spoons, 12 coffee spoons and a pickle spoon and fork. The canteen is in generally fairly well used condition, with numerous nicks and scratches to the silver consistent with age, but the fork tines and spoons tips are in good order with little signs of wear. One mother of pearl handles of the dessert forks and knives is damaged and most of the rest of the handles have sprung slightly. All hallmarks clear.
