A fine travelling cutlery set dating: early 18th Century provenance: Germany Iron fork with two prongs of rectangular section, with long, knotted neck. Knife with single-edged blade, featuring remains of a stamp on one face. Both folding and provided with elegant, iron handles; the junction is covered with a silver layer engraved with crossed swords. Both handles with silver-plated back, featuring floral engravings; on each side a silver plaque with the bas-relieved effigy of a soldier and another plaque engraved with feathers, at the centre the grip scales of dark horn, richly inlaid with metallic rings and held by silver studs.dimensions: length 18,5 - 19 cm.
