* SUE BIAZOTTI, SLEEP oil on canvas, signed , titled versoframedimage size 48cm x 52cm, overall size 66cm x 71cm Note: Sue Biazotti (nee Barclay) famously won The Aspect Prize (one of the UK's most prestigious art awards) in 2005. She had previously won The Elizabeth Greenshields Scholarship in 1985 after graduating with a BA degree from Edinburgh College of Art (1984). Sue lived and worked in London for a decade and her work has been exhibited at many solo shows in London and in Scotland. Numerous group shows and public exhibitions including London Art Fair, The Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal Glasgow Institute, Paisley Art Institute and Glasgow Art Fair. Favoured galleries include Compass Gallery and Mansfield Gallery and had a celebrated 2014 solo show at House For An Art Lover (Glasgow). Sue has enjoyed widespread and enthusiastic media coverage throughout her career and her work is held in corporate and private collections throughout the UK.
* LESLEY BANKS (SCOTTISH b. 1962), BLUE BELLE oil on canvas, signed, titled versoframed and under glassimage size 31cm x 31cm, overall size 46cm x 46cm Note: Born in 1962, Lesley Banks grew up in Denny, Stirlingshire. In 1980 she began a four year Degree course at Glasgow School of Art specialising in Drawing and Painting. After graduating she travelled and painted throughout Europe funded by an Elizabeth Greenshields Scholarship. In 1988 she became a gallery assistant in the Compass Gallery, Glasgow. Here, encouraged by Cyril and Jill Gerber, Lesley began to exhibit more of her artworks winning various prizes and awards, such as The 1991 Scottish Prize, Royal Overseas League London. This gave her the confidence to concentrate on painting full-time. In 1999 Lesley was appointed 'Artist in Residence' at Edinburgh Zoo where her popular ''Urban Zoo'' exhibition gained funding from the Scottish Arts Council. Since this time Lesley has exhibited throughout the U.K. and as far afield as Singapore and the USA. Works in public collections include Aberdeen Art Gallery, BBC Scotland, Motherwell District Libraries, Leicestershire Schools Collection, Lillie Art Gallery, Unilever, TSB Bank, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Perth Art Gallery and Museum.
