A GOOD 19TH CENTURY STITCHED AND EMBOSSED-LEATHER POT-BELLIED FISHING CREEL having a hinged lid embossed with a half compass rose and dentillated rim around a central elliptical aperture, all fastening with a hasp arrangement and scroll moulded escutcheon, cream painted interior, bowed suspension tube to reverse, later strap. 20cm(h) x 39cm(w) ***This creel once belonged to prolific angling author/writer T K (Tim) Wilson who wrote 'Trout By All Means' and published articles under the pseudonym Broughton Point, and was passed to his son.
