A 19th Century Staffordshire Figure of a Highlander with cello wearing a plumed hat, blue jacket and yellow shawl, stood beside a peacock perched on a tree trunk encrusted with clumps of foliage, 15 ins (28 cms) in height.

A rare 1930’s set of lead musicians seated playing instruments. In the style produced by T&B (Taylor & Barrett). The set comprises 7 pieces, a conductor standing holding his baton in a commanding way. He is dressed in red tails with white shirt and black trousers. The 6 musicians are all seated and are painted in a mid green, with white shirts and black trousers. All are complete with their chairs, one with two legs missing. The instruments being played are-Violin, Cello, banjo, accordion, trumpet and a large horn. QGC-GC for age. One musicians leg is missing, some chipping overall. Note:- these examples do not appear to be referred to in ‘The Great Book of Hollow Cast Figures’ by Norman Joplin..
