John Prince Halton (1797-1873) 'City of Edinburgh looking towards Carlton Hill' Pencil drawing, dated 1819, 36 x 11cm Footnote: Halton was a surgeon at Liverpool Royal Infirmary but educated at The University of Edinburgh. He was a talented amateur artist and some of his views of Eaton Hall were engraved. The Grosvenor Museum, Chester, have a number of his drawings and watercolours.
