ASSORTED CERAMICS & SILVER PLATE, including Flow Blue China 'Carlton' pattern 24pc part tea set, Brownlow relief moulded Union jug (lacks pewter lid), Staffs blue printed tankard with Victoria's Royal Coat of Arms (craked), Staff figural peperette, Russian plated vodca cup, cranberry glass sifter, drum mustard, toast tack, salver etc.Condition report: Comments: teaset with chips and cracks, electroplate items worn, generally AF.
Carlton Chinaland twin handled gondola shaped bowl with pagodas, figures and a continuous mountainous lake landscape against an orange lustre ground with gilt handles to side and raised on four gilt feet. Crown back stamp to base, Registration No.716736 33cm wide, 16cm deep, 16.5 high.Condition report: Crazing to the underside and base, areas of wear to the gilding, most noticeably to the rim and foot of the bowl. Gilding is generally in good condition on the sides of the bowl. The orange ground inside the bowl has faded from the edges to the centre of the bowl. No chips or cracks. Some scratching to the orange lustre ground.
7th-6th century BC. A Rasmussen’s type 2d Bucchero pottery chalice, composed of a carinated bowl, collared stem and splayed foot, the upper body engraved with concentric grooves, raised medial notched ledge, concentric circles to the foot. Cf. Rasmussen, T., Bucchero Pottery from Southern Etruria, Cambridge, 1979, pp.98-99; pl.28, nos.141,143, are closest in form to this specimen. 598 grams, 16.5cm high (6 1/2"). Acquired between 1965 and 1980. Carlton private collection, Los Angeles, California, USA. With Artemis Gallery, Louisville, USA. Private Australian collection. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Artemis Gallery, Louisville, USA. Accompanied by a copy of the previous collector's cataloguing document. This is one of the commonest types of chalice in bucchero, classified by Rasmussen. The shape is similar to Type 2c, but there is only a single ring on the stem. The more common decoration consists of three grooves, or rarely four (Rasmussen, 1979, nos.14,18-l9), on the lip, and notches on the carination.For this specific lot, 5% import VAT is applicable on the hammer price. Fine condition, some restoration.

(8) (Condition report: the charger is heavily crazed, patches of staining, rubbed lustre and crack which goes through the body, smaller Spider's Web dish is badly cracked, the larger Spider's Web dish has a rim chip to the front, some other light rubbing to pieces in a few places)
