* WWI. A group of four to Midshipman T.R.C. Humber, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve British War and Victory Medals (MTD. T.R. Humber. R.N.V.R.), Special Constabulary Long Service Medal, G.V.R. (Sergt. Thomas R.G. Humber), Defence Medal, extremely fine, with transmission slip, silver identity bracelet and miniature dress awards (Qty: 6)Midshipman Thomas Humber was born in Carlton, Nottinghamshire in 1900, he joined the RNVR in 1917 serving in HMS Victory VI, he also served in HMS Skate from 1917 onwards. HMS Skate was one of ten R-class destroyers ordered by the British Admiralty in December 1915 as part of the Seventh War Construction Programme. Skate was torpedoed and damaged in the North Sea off the Mass Lightship by SM UC-69 with the loss of a crew member on 12 March 1917
