A collection of nineteenth and twentieth century pottery, c.1830-1920. Yo include: a named and dated porcelain floral mug, a Copeland jelly mould, a Carlton Ware match striker, a Doulton Lambeth stoneware jug, a transfer-printed picture on ceramic of Mrs. Gladstone, a brown-printed pin dish and a pate sur pate vase decorated with cranes. Vase: 14 cm tall. (8) Condition: Vase broken and glued, named jug broken and glued, chip to jelly mould, small chip to Doulton jug, stand of Mrs. Gladstone damaged. A Carlton Ware 'Moonlight Cameo' pattern preserve jar cover and stand, black ground with orange lustre, gold and black decoration, height approx 10cm, plus a baluster jar in the same pattern and colourway, height approx 15.5cm.Condition: No signs of damage or restoration to either piece. Minor rubbing to gilding and decoration.

A Carlton Ware sugar sifter orange lustre body and stainless steel cap, height approx 11.5cm, a Carlton Ware Art Deco jug cream ground with decoration in blue, orange, yellow, green and black height approx 13.5cm.Condition: No signs of damage or restoration to any. Age related wear to jug and sugar sifter.
Miniature almanacs. London Almanack for the Year of Christ 1783 [and:] London Almanack for the Year of Christ 1796. 2 works, each 64mo (57 x 33 mm), original morocco elaborately gilt and with decorative morocco onlays, all edges gilt, 24 pp., engraved throughout, 4-page view to each ('The Ordnance Office, Old Palace Yard' and 'View of the Inside of the Hall at Carlton House' respectively), custom stamps to title-pages, 1783 edition with pencil annotations to calendar and small abrasion to the page for October, each housed in matching morocco slipcase (qty: 2) ESTC T127697 (one copy traced: British Library), T127704 (five copies). For each work ESTC records a collation of 26 leaves printed on one side only, but our copies appear to be complete and may represent a variant.
MARILYN MONROE INTEREST: A vintage travel trunk, 20th century, by repute once belonging to Marilyn Monroe, initialled 'M.M.' to the lid, applied labels for 'Hotel Du Lac, Interlaken', 'Carlton Hotel Tivoli, Lucerne', and other international hotels including ones in London and Paris, with various applied and partially removed luggage labels, the ribbed trunk of typical form with fabric lined interior and removable top tray, 88cm x 53cm x 51cm Provenance: The trunk was given to British actor Richard Wattis by Marilyn when they worked together on the Prince And The Showgirl (released 1957). The trunk was too big for Wattis's house, so he gave it to fellow thespian Derrick Hammond-Stroud. He kept it in his loft until his friends Jeffrey and Dorothy Benton moved house in 1968. Dorothy was a big Marilyn fan and needed something to keep clothes in, so Hammond-Stroud gave her the trunk. It is now being sold by the Benton family in aid of the Mario Lanza Education Foundation. CONDITION REPORT:The trunk appears to be in original condition with period travel labels and no evidence of retouching to the 'M.M.'. The vendor has indicated that they would be happy to provide a letter to the purchaser confirming the provenance given above.
