A SELECTION OF MID 20TH CENTURY PREDOMINANTLY SCRATCH BUILT DOLLS & DOLL'S HOUSE FURNITURECondition report – There are six bisque dolls, condition okay. There is an additional bisque doll with detached leg and missing arm, There is a small china doll, not jointed 2.5cm high, and three plastic / rubber baby dolls.
MINIATURE DOLLS & OTHER DOLLS 7 miniature dolls including 2 china head dolls, 2 wooden miniature dolls, miniature German bisque head doll, and 2 other dolls. German doll 13cms high. Also with a Recknagel bisque head doll, Model 121 (17 1/2ins 45cms high), Ernst Heubach bisque head doll (damaged), and other dolls.
TWO BISQUE HEAD 'NORTH AMERICAN INDIAN' DOLLS two similar dolls possibly by Armand Marseille, the dolls with fixed brown eyes, open mouth and composition bodies. Both with original clothing and shoes, one with broken arm holding a club (loose but present). Marked to the necks, 6 and 5. 21ins (53cms) high and 18ins (46cms) high. (2)
‘Barnard castle’ painted wooden dolls house, English 1888, the painted stone grey brick effect façade with steps leading to wooden panelled front door, with portico, eight glazed windows and pediment with date, carry handle to roof, front opens in one wing to three rooms on three levels, with original wall papers, upper floors with built in fireplaces and metal grates, all rooms with furniture and eight various bisque dolls, (condition: exterior is repainted), this dolls house was part of the late Audrey Johnson collection and comes with a note from her detailing the house, 31 ½” (80cm) tall, 15 1/4” (39cm) wide, 14” (36cm) deep. A wooden painted Victorian Dolls House and Milliners Shop, the tall red brick house with panelled front door and fan light, five glazed windows with moulded sills, grey pitched roofs and chimney, front opens in one wing to two large rooms on two levels, ground floor Milliners shop with various antique silk threads, spools of ribbon, lace and miniature hats on stands, floor standing mirror, purses, some shoes, bisque kitten and chairs, with later counter, till and dolls. First floor living area with antique cream and blue painted corner cupboard, sideboard with inlay decoration, marble top dressing table, Waltershausen marble top sideboards with mirror and towel stand, later four poster bed, crib, lead dogs and a mixture of ornaments throughout, (condition: repair to split to front, roof repainted inside of door repainted, interior papers not original), 46 ½” (118cm) tall, 20 ½” (52cm) wide, 19 ½” (49cm) deep. A painted wooden town dolls house, English circa 1890, the brown and cream exterior with panelled front door to centre, six glazed windows and a further two boarded up, all with decorative moulded sills, flat roof, carry handles and two side opening doors to front, having five rooms on three levels, all with nice original fireplaces, and ground floor hallway, kitchen with built in cream dresser, painted brick stove, tin-plate range, copper and pewter utensils and all-bisque chef, dining room with gold soft metal mirror, pictures, sewing machine tape measure, wooden table and more, first floor salon with rare walterhausen tapestry stretcher, sideboard with mirror, chest of draws, soft metal mirror with shelf, sconces, elaborate gold mirror and more, upper left suite with walterhausen chest, dressing table, four velvet and metal chairs, screen and mantle, upper floor rooms with good set of light wood furniture, ornaments and more, (condition: exterior repainted, later wall papers), 36 ½” (92.5cm) tall, 26” (66cm) wide, 12 ¼” (31cm) deep. Outstanding and rare A.T Andre Thuillier bisque head Bebe doll, size 7, French circa 1880, the beautiful pale bisque head with fixed blue glass paper-weight eyes, dark eyeliner, accented nostrils and painted closed mouth with hint of smile, pierced ears, original blonde wig and cork pate, on a good original early carved wooden fully jointed body with swivel wrists and ball joints to elbows and hips, and wearing a pink silk dress with lace, cream silk bonnet, underclothes, socks and white leather strapped shoes, (condition: head perfect, good original body, tiny flake to left earring hole and single miniscule kiln dot to chin) incised A 7 T, 17 ” (43cm) tall, see page 617 Coleman’s Encyclopedia of dolls Vol I for similar doll.

A 22" early 20th century Schoenau & Hoffmeister, German bisque head doll. With weighted blue glass eyes, lashes, open mouth with top teeth, on a fully jointed composite body with wooden ball joints. Fully dressed in dusky pink dress and lace pinafore, straw bonnet, underclothes, socks and shoes. Back of head dated 1909. Together with a quantity of handmade dolls clothes.
