An early 20th century French bisque head doll automatonmanufactured by SociŽtŽ Franais de Fabrication de BŽbŽ & Jouets (SFBJ), in the form of a seated lady at a dressing table, the head variously stamped to reverse '301, Paris, France', with blue glass eyes, painted lashes, with open mouth and moulded upper teeth, wearing high collared lace trimmed dress, one hand with brush, painted shoes, the dressing table with removable mirror, fixed scissors and comb, mechanism converted to electricity, mounted on velvet topped gilt coloured wooden base with central draw raised on four feet, together with a number of pieces of fabricapproximately 36cm height Condition: In worn condition, untested/ unknown if mechanism functioning - vintage electric wiring. The table cloth with apparently replacement fabric, hands and head with glue residue visible, hand mirror lacking. Dolls head with wear and glue/ staining visible particularly to reverse, cloth fragments possibly original clothing/tablecloth.

CR; no obvious chips or cracks to bisque on either doll. Not viewed under Ultra violet light. Heubach doll has eyes stuck open.

Lot 62A

A doll for restoration by Armand Marseille (all parts detached, needs re-stringing); bisque head has blue closing eyes, open mouth with teeth, mould 390, together with period dolls clothes. CR: Bisque head is in good condition- no obvious cracks or chips, not viewed under ultra violet light. Hair is securely glued so not possible to view inside of head. All hands and fingers all intact. Damage to right foot- crack across heel and sole of foot is absent

Larger doll, height 62cm has closing brown eyes, wearing smocked dress, and cape with matching bonnet. The other doll is marked 312 SuR 6½ (for the Seyfarth & Reinhardt factory), height 58cm and is dressed in a period dress and bonnet with multiple underlayers. CR; the larger doll has no obvious chips or cracks to bisque head. Not viewed under ultra violet light. The smaller doll has a long repaired crack to left side of face. Eyes are fixed open

2 early 20th century German bisque head dolls; the taller doll 67cm has head by Armand Marseille, brown eyes, open mouth with teeth and an unusual composition body with hinged knee joints and a straight elbow. The other doll height 60cm has brown closing eyes, open mouth with teeth (one broken off), jointed composition body with impressed marks to head 'Germany R.S.A.' Both dolls are wearing period white cotton dresses (2) CR; AM doll has hairline crack at back of head and closing eye mechanism is not working. Other doll has no obvious chips or cracks to bisque head. Bisque heads not viewed under ultra violet light.

The doll measures approximately 75cm in length, and has open blue glass eyes and fair hair. Dressed in a w hite christening cotton dress, over original brown silk dress, woollen petticoat and cotton bloomers. The doll has painted shoes and socks, and appears to be in Far condition overall with cracks and age related wear to face plus some chips to shoes; an Armand Marseille German bisque porcelain doll- porcelain head and body. with moulded teeth, open blue glass eyes wearing white christening cotton dress over woollen vest, approximately 36cm in length and appears to be in Fair condition with some minor chips to feet and fingers; plus an Armand Marseille bisque porcelain doll - Makers mark:AM Germany 341./4 with damaged open eyes, a porcelain head and stuffed body with jointed wooden arms and legs, dressed in white cotton christening dress and petticoat, approx 40cm in length and appears in Good condition with some minor damage to fingers on right hand, and missing left hand; and a vintage Topsy Turvy doll with three heads- Red Riding Hood/Grandma/Wolf, and appears in Good condition in cotton fabric, stuffed, measuring 22cm length.
