Two coal-scuttle shaped helmets made by Vickers in the UK: one example painted white for use by emergency services after decommissioning by the Defence Forces in 1940; the second recently painted dark green and fitted with an Oglaigh na h-Eireann helmet badge.

Irish. Ulster 14th Bn (Young Citizens) Royal Irish Rifles WW1 “Kitchener’s Army” cap badge. Fine scarce die-stamped white metal Hand of Ulster superimposed on crowned shamrock. (KK 1153) Slider VGC Raised in Belfast in September 1914 from Belfast Volunteers. Landed at Boulogne in October 1915.

Indian Army. Hodson’s Horse (4th DCO’s Own Lancers) 1945 Birmingham hallmarked silver Officer’s cap badge. Fine die-cast crowned crossed lances with scroll across the butts “Hodsons Horse”. JRG&S (JR Gaunt and Sons) Loops VGC Formed in 1857 as irregular cavalry under the gallant and intrepid William Stephen Raikes Hodson (killed at Lucknow 13th March 1858).

Reorganised into a Corps of two battalions in 1903. 1st April 1917 became 36th Bengal Nagpur Railway Regt. and The Bengal Nagpur Railway Regt. 1st October 1920.
