WW2 British Army Air Corps Maroon Beret, fine quality, possibly privately tailored maroon beret as issued to the British airborne troops. Beret fitted with other ranks pattern cap badge with lug fittings and brass back plate. Beret has black ribbed band and the interior lining is of a quilted cloth which is normally associated with headdress privately purchased by officers. Spiral pattern to the top of the beret. The beret shows expected service wear. No dates or markings visible.
