The varnish is clear and fairly even, there are a few matte spots, drips and glossy circles, although it is acceptable from a normal viewing distance. There is light abrasion around the edges of the picture caused by framing. There is a slight opaque bloom across the surface caused by dirt  and some fly spots, the painting would benefit from a light clean.

Jan Miense Molenaer, Ein junger Mann, die Theorbe spielendÖl auf Holz. 40,6 x 31,5 cm.ProvenienzVersteigerung Müller, Amsterdam, 24.4.1906, Lot 93. - Versteigerung Charpentier, Paris, 9.5.1952, Lot 99. - Galerie Sankt Lucas, Wien Katalog Sommer 1969, Nr. 16. - Deutsche Privatsammlung.

The Paintings of Lucas Cranach, London 1978, S. 101, Kat.Nr 156).

56,5 x 38 cm.GutachtenDr.

STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE (1977) - US One Sheet "Style D" Poster - Alternative Font - A US One Sheet "Style D" poster with an alternative font from the promotion of George Lucas' Star Wars: A New Hope. An exceptionally rare poster from the series. Unlike the regular and more common Style D design which has a 'funky text' font, this is printed with a more standard and formal lettering in the credits area and is one of only a very small number known to exist. When Star Wars was re-released during the summer of 1978, George Lucas was looking for a new look to refresh the poster campaign, one that would convey the fun and swashbuckling appeal of the film. The "Style D", also known as the "Circus Poster" created by Charles White III and Drew Struzan, certainly fulfilled the brief. It exhibits a distressed finish, displaying the look of a torn poster placed on a rough plywood wall with additional images plastered alongside. It was created out of necessity as the typography and credit block would not fit within the original image area. Dimensions: 104.25 cm x 68.5 cm (41" x 27")Estimate: £800 - 1,600 M Bidding for this lot will end on Sunday, November 17th.
