STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE (1977) - Screen-matched Imperial Stormtrooper (Sandtrooper) Helmet from Jedi Mind Trick Scene ("Move Along, Move Along") - View this 360 turnaround at full sizeThe screen-matched "Jedi mind-trick" sandtrooper helmet from George Lucas' Star Wars: A New Hope. Imperial Sandtroopers, or desert stormtroopers, were stationed on Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) home planet of Tatooine and could be regularly seen on patrol in the spaceport of Mos Eisley. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) successfully used his Jedi mind-tricks to convince a platoon of sandtroopers that "these are not the droids you're looking for." This helmet screen-matches to the trooper that Obi-Wan performed the Jedi mind-trick on, who then told the group to "move along." The match is evidenced through unique paintwork on the teeth, paint runs on the side of the helmet, the organic forms of the hand-cut eye openings, and a distinct crack around the right side of the jaw.Stormtroopers were part of George Lucas' earliest concepts for Star Wars and played prominently in each film of the original Star Wars trilogy. Lucas conveyed his ideas to seminal designer Ralph McQuarrie, who memorialised them in a series of concept sketches and production paintings. The costumes were realised for the film by the UK production crew, including costume designer John Mollo, sculptors Liz Moore and Brian Muir, and plastic-former Andrew Ainsworth. The exact count of stormtrooper helmets made for A New Hope is not known, but common consensus is less than 30, including only six sandtrooper helmets and body armours. Three sandtrooper helmets are known to survive: this example, one in George Lucas' archive, and another owned by a private collector. This helmet has "Harding" scribed into the interior for stunt performer Reg Harding. It retains the original microphone tips at the front of the helmet, rubber trims at the brow and neck opening, and the interior foam padding. The original ears and green strip of acetate in the eyes were removed from the helmet during production, so these components have been replicated to complete the aesthetic. The replica ears were moulded directly from an original pair to ensure the highest degree of accuracy. The helmet exhibits some wear from age and production use, most notably scuffs, scratches, paint wear and several small cracks. The helmet is an exceptional example on account of the specific screen usage in one of A New Hope's most memorable scenes, the original unrestored paint finish, its overall condition and aesthetic, and its scarcity as a sandtrooper variant of the classic stormtrooper. Dimensions: 30 cm x 31 cm x 30 cm (11.75" x 12.25" x 11.75")Estimate: £250,000 - 500,000 M Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday, November 14th. STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE (1977) - Howard Chaykin Poster - A Howard Chaykin "Poster #1" from the promotion of George Lucas' Star Wars: A New Hope. Chaykin's poster debuted at the 1976 Comic-Con and was the first introduction to the Star Wars saga for unsuspecting attendees, along with a Marvel comic-book series which was drafted by the artist to help generate interest for the film's release the following year.Composed in Chaykin's original high-detail comic-book style, this poster features a collage of key aspects of the film. Luke Skywalker stands at the front, backed by a blaster-wielding Han Solo, Princess Leia and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Behind them looms Darth Vader, against the Death Star, and X-Wings, Y-Wings, and T.I.E. Fighters are depicted on the poster's lower half. "Star Wars"is written in red in the bottom right corner. The text in the bottom margin reads "Poster 1, 1st edition artist: Howard Chaykin, Luke Skywalker". A copyright symbol prefaces the final text, "The Star Wars Corporation 1976", a detail only present on original posters, distinguishing the piece from reprints that surfaced years later. STAR WARS: ORIGINAL TRILOGY (1977-1983) - Promotional DNA Productions Darth Vader Tour Costume - A Darth Vader touring costume used to promote the release of George Lucas' Star Wars Trilogy on videotape. The promotional costume was crafted by former LucasFilm archivist Don Bies and his wife Anna of DNA Productions in 1995 for distributor Fox Studios. The costume comprises a vacuum-formed plastic helmet and fibreglass mask; a stretch fabric collar; a full-length cape and under-robe; vacuum-formed plastic chest armour with attached pauldrons; a fibreglass chest control box; a tunic featuring faux leather sleeves; a pair of gloves; a leather belt featuring three control boxes; a padded leather codpiece; a pair of faux leather trousers; and a pair of leather boots with attached plastic shin guards. Each glove has a DNA Productions label sewn to its interior with "#7" handwritten in blue ink.

POMOLOGY -- GILBERT, Charles. "Album pomologique". N.d. (before 1880). Collection of 9 odd vols., comprising 2 vols. w. manuscript descriptions of apples (532 and 534 numb. pp), 2 vols. w. manuscript descriptions of pears (528 and 522 numb. pp), and 5 lge-4° vols. w. c. 980 original drawings in colour of pears made by the author, all cut out on outlines and laid down on light blue paper (77; 76; 76; 76; 76 lvs. respectively). (Binds. worn and/or slightly dam., but in fine interior condition). NOTE: Charles Gilbert (1820-1890) came from a well-known family. Destined for a merchant's career, he learned several languages. His older brother Joannes Carolus Petrus was an oilcloth manufacturer. An uncle was an alderman. After the death of his mother in 1843, Gilbert inherited the 'Bleyckhof' in Oelegem, a former bleachery and country residence, owned by the Antwerp Gilbert family for generations. The inheritance allowed him to distance himself from the business world and retire. In this way, the way was clear for Gilbert to fully surrender to his passion: horticulture and pomology. "Op de nationale tentoonstelling van 1880 ontving Gilbert een gouden medaille voor zijn 'Album Pomologique', originele kleurenafbeeldingen en beschrijvingen van ca. 500 peren- en 100 appelsoorten. Deze unieke gegevens werden spijtig genoeg nooit gepubliceerd." (see 'Gilbert' on https://www.bestor.be). - Present are only the plate volumes 1, 4, 5, 6 and 13 devoted to pears (numbering on spines), presenting together well over 980 drawings of pears and cross sections of pears (on a 1:1 scale?), numbered and with their names on printed tickets/or in manuscript, and the 4 text volumes written in a legible hand. From vol. 6 unfortunately some 13 drawings were removed. - On Gilbert's life, see Ed. Lucas in 'Pomologische Monatshefte', 188, p. 321.

A one year only model, only 250 were built to this specification and very few survived WWII. It’s not clear why the B18 was produced in such small numbers, but it’s possible that the arrival of Val Page at BSA as chief designer was the catalyst. When he arrived in 1936, he discovered that BSA had 18 models in its catalogue, of which six, including the B18, were ‘new’ introductionsIt combined a 1933-vintage 249cc four-stroke single with a 4-speed hand-change gearbox and Lucas Magdyno ignition. It also boasted an 8" headlamp and separate oil tank, to replenish the total-loss oil supply to exposed overhead valve gearThe B18 used a diamond type frame and BSA girder forks and the factory finish was a black frame, chrome plated rims with black centres and chrome plated petrol tank with green panels and black rubber knee padsWe understand that this example has benefitted from a previous restoration, however it appears currently to be in need of further restorative worksSupplied with a current V5, some history and workshop manualsA very rare bike and may well be sought after when returned to top formSpecification Make: BSA Model: B18 DE LUXE Year: 1936 Registration Number: DM 9924 Engine Number: D18608Click here for more details and images

A very special TR6, one of the original Factory Press Department Road Test Cars.  Sharp, clean and ruggedly handsome, the TR6 looked far more modern than TR roadsters of old and proved a huge hit with the sporting driver of the early 1970s. Restyled in 1969 by Karmann of Osnabruck, it gained a full width nose and a squared-off tail, however under its new 'party frock', the chassis remained basically the same as its independently-rear-suspended TR5 predecessor. Handling was improved courtesy of wider wheels and a front anti-roll bar and the 6 was a little more refined than its predecessors featuring pile carpets, plush looking bucket seats, a traditional wooden dashboard and a full complement of instrumentation. The 150bhp 2.5-litre Lucas fuel-injected straight-six power unit was initially unchanged but was detuned to 125bhp for the US-market and subsequently for the UK-market from 1973 onwards to meet stricter emissions regulations. Even in the later detuned specification, it could still hit 60mph in just 9.5 seconds with a top speed of 116mph.  This is an original home-market, UK-supplied, right-hand drive car and according to its Heritage Certificate, was built on 29th January 1974, fitted with overdrive and finished in Mimosa with a black interior, a colour scheme that it proudly displays to this day. However, instead of being sold through the normal dealer network, RDU 998M was seconded by the factory Press and Publicity Department to be used as a Road Test car, offered on short term loan to prominent motoring journalists in the hope of attracting lots of favourable publicity. This was certainly the case and the car regularly appeared in magazine features and newspaper articles. Thoroughbred and Classic Cars magazine ran a feature on RDU in their January 1975 issue and pleasingly, there is a copy of this in the Owners File. Naturally, during the period when it was being presented to the press, it was washed, polished and maintained on a daily basis in order to create the most favourable impression. Our vendor has owned this car since 2019 and covered a mere 132 miles in that time. In his own words - 'I have proudly displayed it at local classic car shows as it still presents really well today with good shut lines, excellent paintwork, well cared for interior, a tidy engine bay,and a smart black hood. I have had the brake system overhauled including fitting a new brake servo and master cylinder. Prior to my ownership, this lovely TR was family-owned for 15 years. A regular at Owners Club events, RDU 998M is well known and well regarded within the Triumph community. The current indicated mileage is 42,629 and, as you might expect from an enthusiast owned car, it's accompanied by lots of unique history, period brochures, Press Pack, original documents, manuals, the Heritage Certificate, old tax discs, and previous MOT Certificates'. Sensibly estimated, this is a very special TR6, part of Triumph's history and would be very welcome at any gathering of Triumph enthusiasts. Specification Make: TRIUMPH Model: TR6 Year: 1974 Chassis Number: CR56760 Registration Number: RDU 998M Transmission: Manual Engine Number: CR3595HE Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 42629 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
