A heavy plated/white metal centre piece in the form of a boy in drapery standing above a platform raised on four scrolling supports with acanthus leaf embossed detail in the Neoclassical style, with crown stamp to the interior, 28 cm tall approx together with an oak cased three piece carving set comprising two pronged fork, knife and steel, all with worked antler handles terminating in plated caps with cows mask embossed detail, the knife marked V R Harrison Bros & Howson, Cutters to Her Majesty, two good quality plated serving spoons, one by Elkington & Co, a tall pressed glass urn on pedestal foot
A Ruskin Pottery lidded jar, of shouldered footed form, shape 132 from the 1905 catalogue, with deep blue streaked souffle glaze with internal green spots, with pale green glaze to edge of rim and interior, impressed oval mark and William Howson Taylor monogram, a similar jar is illustrated in one of the colour plates from the 1905 catalogue, see Ruskin Pottery by Paul Atterbury and John Henson p35. approx. 30cm high.

Of local and military interest: A Victorian silver two handled tray of oval form, the plateau engraved with a mounted cavalry man and inscribed 'Presented to Lady Alwyne Compton by the N. C. O's. & Men of Compton's Horse 1900' and engraved with the names of the each gentleman within a beaded border and having two conforming handles, w. 66 cm, Harrison Brothers & Howson, Sheffield 1899, 66 ozs * consigned by a descendant of the Peacock family, a relative of Walter Peacock whom established W&H Peacock after returning from the Boer War unemployed. The tray commemorates the service of the so called Compton's Horse Regiment who served in South Africa during this time CONDITION REPORT: some surface scratches and minor wear
A rare and important Exhibition quality William Howson Taylor Ruskin Pottery ovoid shaped large Vase, flambe glaze in mottled grey with red marking, the circular spreading neck (with visible approx. 5.5cm vertical firing crack) above an ovoid shaped body, the varying glazes bleeding and trickling to create an overall mottled effect of colours, the underside with impressed mark Ruskin, England and dated 1926, approx. height 37.8cm, sold together with original Ruskin Pottery, a Victoria and Albert Museum travelling Exhibition Catalogue detailing "all the pieces used in this Exhibition are on loan from the Ferneyhough Collection of Ruskin Pottery, which comprises Howson Taylor's own collection, the present owner believes this Vase to be identified in the Catalogue as (F.L.11) (Case 1) (F.L.11)"
