Struck a little off-centre on reverse, spotted and blotchy tone, otherwise good extremely fine and extremely rare. Peck mentions that the British Museum has a specimen showing traces of gilding but due to the poor state it was unable to conclude whether this was original. This above gilt specimen proves that such a piece does exist

A Nantgarw plate circa 1820 London decorated with a central flower spray inside a border moulded with C-scrolls and foliage picked out in gilding and reserved with six flower panels impressed NANTGARW CW 22cm. 8.75in. some wear to gilding; and a Swansea dessert plate painted with a central rose bud inside six pink roses gilt line rim impressed SWANSEA and trident 21cm. 8.25in. A diamond and enamel Royal Norfolk Regimental brooch the seated figure of Britannia holding an olive branch and trident and resting one arm on a shield enamelled with the Union Jack set throughout with old cut diamonds with the Roman numerals IX similarly set beneath. . This infantry regiment was established in 1751 as the 9th Regiment of Foot and reorganised as the Norfolk Regiment in 1881. The regiment saw battle honours in Afghanistan (1879-80) South Africa (1900-02) and at the Marne Ypres and the Somme amongst others during World War One. The IX under Britannia might allude to the 9th Service Battalion of the regiment which was established at Norwich in 1914. In 1958 the regiment was amalgamated with the Suffolk Regiment to become the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Regiment
A brass lantern clock by ‘Walter Archer’ Stow-on-the-Wold early 18th century of posted construction with half seconds anchor escapent and countwheel strike on a bell mounted within the domed cage above the dial with foliate engraved centre and applied 6.25in Roman numeral chapter ring with stylised trident half hour markers and signed to the lower edge with original? iron hand armorial frets and on ball feet finials replaced lacking side doors and back plate 35cm high with a pendulum weight and carved oak wall bracket. Walter Archer is recorded in Dowler Graham ‘Gloucestershire Clock and Watch Makers’ as working in Stow during the early 18th century a very similar clock is illustrated on page 153.
A 19th Century Continental gilt framed rectangular wall mirror, the cresting boldly fretted and carved with floral and leaf scroll ornament, and various utensils and trident, with conforming moulded ribbon pattern frame and conforming fretted and carved floral and ribbon pattern apron, inset with bevelled mirror plate, 52ins x 21ins overall
