dating: circa 1900 provenance: Austria Slightly curved, single -and false-edged blade with rounded back, engraved with imperial eagle and anchor surmounted by a crown, on the forte the manufacturer's mark "FRANZ THILL WIEN"; fine, brass hilt richly pierced with imperial eagle, mermaids with anchor and floral motifs, long cap with the effigy of Poseidon and the trident; grip with fish skin covering and brass wire binding. Wooden scabbard with brass mounts decorated with bas-relieved anchors and floral motifs. Complete with sword-knot. dimensions: length 85 cm.

BADFINGER - original Trident Studios EMI Tape reel to reel of the Apple label artists "Badfinger" featuring 2 tracks which are "Piano Red" and "Cowboy". 9th-12th century AD. A hand-forged iron trident comprising a square-section shank with right-angled attachment lug, three vertical tines each with a single barb. Property of a London businessman, from his grandfather's collection formed after World War II; thence by descent 1972. Cf. Sedov, B.B. EXTRA LOT: A 1972 Triumph Trident T150, registration number PGU 873K, black. This Trident was imported from the USA last year and registered in the vendor's name. He advises us that the engine has been rebuilt with new pistons which has bought the capacity up to 860cc. He advises us that there is a slight oil leak and faint smoke from the exhaust which he thinks is piston rings bedding in as there is plenty of compression and the bike is very quick. The Triumph is fitted with Dunstall silencers which he says sound the business. He describes the motorcycle as a good tidy bike for a 44 year old and is only for sale because he cannot get on with the right hand gear change. V5C, MOT to September 2016 See illustration
