Distinguished Flying Medal Casualty group - DFM (1313523 F/Sgt S A Pepworth RAF), 1939-45 Star, Air Crew Europe Star, Defence & War Medals. Box of issue for DFM and named box of issue for WW2 Stars (no Casualty Medal slip). Died 27/2/1945 with 138 Sqdn, as Pilot Officer 184794. On the Runnymede Memorial. His DFM was awarded for service with 106 Sqdn on 28 Sorties, mainly during the Battle of the Ruhr, plus Berlin, Stuttgart, Stettin, Hamberg and Friedrichshaven. nEF (5)

Group mounted as worn to 2044261 Cpl A S Dowden RE. 1939-45 Star, Africa Star + 1st Army bar, Italy Star, Defence Medal, War medal with MID, GVI Efficiency Medal with Territorial clasp. MID L/G 29th November 1945 for Italy. Plus Boxed Defence Medal to Mr S Dowden of Wickford Essex. (7)
Norfolk Regiment Interest QSA bars Cape Colony, Ofs, Transvaal, also entitled to Rhodesia & South Africa 1901 (last bar loose on ribbon), Victorian Army LS & GC Medal, first named 15472 S. SERJT. MAJ. J. MAHON 53rd Coy. IMP. YEO and 1511 Sergt J. MAHON NORF R. John Mahon enlisted aged 18 in the 1/9th Foot 14-11-1870 at ?? and served until 1897. In various non campaign area, the LS & GC medal was his only entitlement. (Gibraltar, GB & East Indies). Married with five children he re enlisted 24.3.00 and served until Christmas Day 1901 when he was KIA at Tweefontein when 500 Imperial Yeomanrymen were attacked by 500 Boers under De Wet who crept up at night upon the Yeomen and completely overran them, capturing 240 prisoners and 20 wagons. Sadly 57 British were killed and 88 wounded. The Rhodesia and SAOI clasps were later issued (research confirms) sadly this Rhodesia clasp is missing. EF (2)
