A little craquelure in places. Under UV light, there is some fluorescing in parts, most significantly to the rock to the lower right foreground and spots and smudges to the sky and extreme top edge.

Im gefütterten Schuber mit Pergamentkanten.Exemplar 220 von 250 auf Maillol-Kessler-Bütten, davon 225 für den Handel (Gesamtauflage 292). - Unter dem Druckvermerk vom Übersetzer Rudolf Alexander Schröder signiert. - Der Druck wurde im Frühjahr 1914 auf der Weimarer Handpresse begonnen und, »durch den Weltkrieg unterbrochen«, erst im Juni 1925 wieder aufgenommen. - Es erschienen neben der lateinisch-deutschen Fassung auch Übersetzungen ins Französische und Englische. - Nach den ersten Vorarbeiten zur Satzanordnung, die Harry Graf Kessler schon 1912 begann, schuf Maillol 1912-1914 und 1925 die Holzschnitte. Maillol verlangte für seine Arbeiten ein besonders kostbares Papier, das schlussendlich in einer Papiermühle in Monval produziert wurde, die Kessler erworben und der Leitung von Maillols Neffen anvertraut hatte. - Der Vergil, eines der Hauptwerke der Presse und zugleich eines der schönsten Bücher des 20. Jahrhunderts, wurde 1927 auf der Leipziger Buchkunst-Ausstellung ausgezeichnet. Morris of St Andrews Feathery Golf Ball, indistinctly stamped Provenance: Former property of Cyril Whiting, club professional at Royal St George's Golf Club, Sandwich, from 1971 to 1989, immortalised by Ian Fleming, with whom he played frequently, as "Cyril Blacking" in James Bond's famous match against Goldfinger, at 'Royal St Mark's'. ROSEMARY RUTHERFORD (1912-1972) A leaded, stained and painted glass panel depicting a figural scene after the Crucifixion of Christ, unframed. Overall size 77.5cm x 60.5cm. Provenance - Given to the current vendor by Canon Rutherford, the artists brother. Rosemary Rutherford studied first at the Chelmsford Art School, then at The Slade School of Art and after the War went to Benton End assisting Cedric Morris and Arthur Lett-Haines. She later set up a workshop in Walsham Le Willows in Suffolk. Her artworks are held in many public and private collections and her stained glass in many churches across East Anglia.There are a few cracks in the blue background section but no glass is missing. The panel is still in its original state with no restoration carried out to date. The ‘antique’ glass has been painted, fired and assembled with 3/8” round lead throughout the panel and 3/8” flat in the perimeter. There are 3 no. copper ties along the centre back.
