1935 Morris 12/4 Series II CoupeMake: MorrisModel: 12/4 Series llYear: 1935Mileage: Contact AuctioneerVIN: 99684Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: BBJ675Transmission: Manual1,479cc. Engine no. 15257. In 1935 the "Series" models were introduced, only two were available a saloon and a coupe. We have been advised that this Morris 12/4 Series II Coupe was restored in the early to mid 1990's by a previous owner, who is understood to have owned it for many years. Since acquiring the car in 2018, the vendor advises that he has had a change of circumstances and has not used it. It was sold previously in 2009 and, again, has mostly remained unused since covering around 100 miles. It comes with V5, 2003 and 2004 MoTs, MoT history for 2007 and 2008 only, copy older V5 and a copy handbook. The mileage is recorded at 62,914.
1956 Morris Oxford Series IIIMake: Morris Model: Oxford Series IIIYear: 1956Mileage: 37487VIN: 103316Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: 769XUJTransmission: ManualPreviously owned by a district nurse who used the car regularly, the vendor advises that he has looked after this car for a few years. During this time the car was used for local drives but also subject to a rolling restoration undertaken at a leisurely pace. This has involved rebuilding the gearbox, installing a new water pump, thermostat and elbow, front bearings, bushes, 18 gauge aluminium lined complete exhaust system, new floor panels and inner, centre and outer sills. Some work is left to complete the project but it starts on the button, the engine pulls well, showing little wear and maintaining good oil pressure at 40-55 psi. Doors and boot all lock, the electrics are all good (except for the clock,) and even the trafficators work, albeit with a mind of their own. The vendor is really hoping that some one can give this car a good home. It comes complete with parts and labour receipts, some MoT history, owner's handbook an workshop manual. The mileage is recorded at 37,487. Details to be updated on car's arrival.

In the manner of Howard & Sons for Morris & Co - A bench seat or sofa on ring turned and tapered simulated rosewood front legs with applied swivel castors, upholstered in Bird pattern jacquard-woven woollen double cloth, 163cm, height of back 83cm and seat height 38cm, S/D.The 'Bird' pattern was originally designed by William Morris in 1878 and the pattern was registered in the same year. It was originally designed for the walls of his drawing room at Kelmscott House. The fabric was probably made at the Merton Abbey Workshop. Morris himself referred to this type of fabric as woven wool tapestry, even though it is not technically a weave, but a double cloth.Provenance - Inherited by the present owner from their father Douglas Hickman, a prominent Birmingham architect. Douglas Hickman was a member of the founding committee of the Birmingham Victorian Society when it was formed in 1967, campaigning for Victorian and Edwardian architecture. He was also the author of 'Birmingham', a book about the architecture of the city published as part of the City Buildings series in 1970. After his death and upon his bequest, the sofa has been on loan to the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and, after 30 years on loan to their collection, has recently been returned to the family.
