Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin (British 1870-1935). Huntsman outside a tavern, watercolour and gouache, signed lower left, 100 x 159cm. Framed and glazed. This was reputedly the firescreen in Aldin's grandchildren's nursery. Condition Report: Under glass, some slight cracking/ crazing to surface, would benefit from a clean.

Early 19th century mahogany polescreen, the shield-shaped panel having a silk and painted embroidery of a girl carrying a basket of fruit and firewood, th embroidered detail sowing a border of a vine, autumn berriesand ribbon bows, done in chain stitch, satin stitch and french knot, the girl's dress pale blue and cream satin stitch, the firewood and other details highlighlighted in gold thread, her face, arms and feet painted, there is splitting from age on the silk, there is also toning to the silk panel, (46cm x 37cm) raised on three scrolling supports with ball feet, 130cm high and an early 20th century oak-framed firescreen having a floral silk embroidered panel, 84cm high x 64cm wide (2)

Robert Mouseman Thompson (1876-1955): An English oak firescreen, with a tapestry hunting scene inset, and engraved '1938', a carved mouse on the top handle, 82 cm high x 51 cm wide, together with two 'Mouseman' carved oak ashtrays, 10 cm x 7.5 cm.Qty: 3Each item given as a gift by Robert Thompson himself, to the vendor's parents as a wedding gift in 1938. They lived locally to him and were friends.Screen with light surface wear and marks, commensurate with age. Structurally sound. The needlework is likely to be contemporary to the piece, given the provenance. Wear to the ashtrays.
