A FIJIAN WAR CLUB PRESENTED DURING THE ROYAL TOUR 1920. Large Size with Classical Form, with Painted Inscription. 'Fijian War Club Presented on H M S Renowns Tour 1920'. With Framed Firescreen, Ships Photographs, and Crest. Both Ships Photographs are of NZ Harbour Visit. The Crest of HMS Renown also the Prince of Wales Tour of Australia and N Zealand are painted over Silk Panel. The Tour took place, from March-October 1920. The length of the Fighting Club overall, 97.5cm, some carving to the Clubhead, of straight lines.
An oak framed firescreen by Robert Thompson of Kilburn (The Mouseman), the centre panel with needlework study of shipping off coastline, 51.5 cm wide x 76 cm high (this piece was personally commissioned by the present vendor in 1955 and is believed to be the first, if not the only, firescreen of this type made by The Mouseman)
