Forkbeard Fantasy - My Favourite Collection of Pressed Husbands - The Fairybreaths On Tour (1977). Collection of stage settings and props, including a 19th century Victorian press, a 19th century firescreen display, a custom made book ' Pressed Husbands ' (featuring various pressed gentlemen!), a pressed husband on ironing board display etc. The 'pressing' performance featured Dorothy reciting her poem atop a step ladder, ironing her husbands on a giant ironing board, whilst her disgruntled husband Desmond looked on. Press measures approx. 168cm tall. Important Notes: please read the 'Important Information' box regarding this sale - there are some parameters regarding viewing and collection. An ebonised hardwood chinoisiere Firescreen decorated with carved and gilded scenes of travellers and ap pair of figures with a fan beneath, the boughs of trees, a sage witha sstaff, a youth at his side approaching a pavilion with a butcher preparing a leg of meat as an assistant weighs meat with a steelyard type scales, the panel below featuring a ribbon-bound box, and a lidded vessel, 27 1/2'' x 10'' deep x 30'' high.
