A late Victorian mahogany and satinwood crossbanded lady's writing desk with a gilt brass gallery to the back and central shelf flanked by two pairs of small bowfront drawers, leather inset writing surface with a serpentine front, three frieze drawers and on square tapered legs, 38 1/2 in. (98cm) wide.
A BASICALLY GEORGE III MAHOGANY BUREAU BOOKCASE crossbanded in satinwood, the upper part with moulded cornice above a pair of astragal glazed doors enclosing shelves and pigeon holes and with a pair of candle slides beneath, the sloping fall front with central marquetry inlaid oval enclosing a fitted satinwood interior above two short and three long cockbeaded graduated drawers, the angles with quadrant inlay, and with gilt brass handles and key plates throughout, the whole raised on bracket feet. Width 44". Height 77".
