Interesting lot of miniatures, includes: apprentice style chest-of-drawers containing one pair of doll's and two pairs of child's kid leather gloves, comb, brush, miniature pipe, leather purse; ladies trinket box containing knitted wrist warmers with pearly buttons, powder puff, 2 x miniature fans, hand-made French beaded purse, handkerchiefs in box. Condition overall G+.
A Cotswold School oak two door wardrobe by Hugh Birkett, the simple cornice above two cupboard doors, each of three bevelled panels, each door enclosing eight linen drawers, to simple plinth base, 108 cm x 177 cm CONDITION REPORTS All drawrs present. Some scratches and impressed marks all over. Large scratch to the middle panel of the left hand door. Side planks are coming apart to reveal dowels. White marks to the sides. General signs of wear and tear throughout.
A Victorian mahogany campaign style pedestal desk with black leatherette inset top above a single long drawer with brass campaign style handles, above a pair of pedestals of three drawers on turned supports, 101 cm x 56 cm CONDITION REPORTS Desk top - leatherette inset top is probably a replacement. Some areas of creasing, bubbling, ill fitting towards the front, scratched and scuffed and marked. Various impressed marks, dark marks, scratches, small knocks, small chips throughout to the front drawer. Left applied banding is probably a replacement. Not known if they are original to the piece. Door lock may be a replacement. Not known whether repolished or refinished. Back is finished but there are some very deep scratches. Lock missing to one drawer. Piece is not veneered, piece comes into three sections. General wear and tear throughout. There are seven holes to top ringed in brass.
A 17th Century Flemish walnut and oak cabinet with ogee moulded cornice above two high relief carved cupboard doors featuring figures upon horseback amongst cherubs, above three high relief carved drawers, the left featuring bearded gentleman, mask upheld by two cherubs, the right featuring carved lady mask held between two cherubs, the central drawer carved with a crowned shield held by two cherubs, above an open recess, to stile feet, 146 cm x 156 cm
A 19th Century French rosewood veneered miniature commode in the Louis XV taste, the grey veined black marble top over three drawers with gilt brass foliate decorated handles and embellishments, raised on a bracket foot base, 39.5 cm wide x 30.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Marble has been broken and repaired to left side. There are various faults and chips. The chest has splits in several places, various scratches, knocks, chips, has been patched in places, is missing veneer in several places especially to the lower edges and feet. One handle is loose but present. The back is warped and bowing out at the top and stained. Drawer liners have some splits and cracks. Discolouration, staining and water marks to the wood. General wear and tear.
19th century mahogany linen press enclosed by pair of panel doors over two short and three long drawers CONDITION REPORT: Sliding drawers to interior. Door doesn't close particularly well. Scratches to surfaces. Stained with liquid near base. Veneer beginning to split.
