A LATE 17TH CENTURY WALNUT CHEST ON STAND, the interior fitted an arrangement of drawers and central cupboard enclosed by panelled doors with crossbanded and herring bone decoration and two frieze drawers, the later stand with barley twist and stretcher support, 40" wide (see illustration).
A SOUTH GERMAN PINE CUPBOARD, the interior fitted two shelves and two small drawers enclosed by panelled doors, with a shaped scroll pediment with all over painted turtle dove and stylised flower decoration with pilasters and canted corners and original lock and key with embossed escutcheons, dated 1841, 75" high x 55" wide (see illustration). (This piece was acquired Dresden c.1911 and inside the right hand door there is a poem written in a South German dialect dated 5 Mai 1896 Baumgarting By Johanna Reiter with translation available).
